The highway travels through rural areas of Hancock County. Route descriptionKY 271 begins at an intersection with KY 1389 southwest of Hawesville, within Hancock County. It travels to the north-northwest and curves to the north-northeast. It curves to the east-southeast and intersects the western terminus of KY 1847 (Park Road). The highway heads to the north-northwest and curves to the northeast. It passes Hancock County High School and meets its northern terminus, an intersection with U.S. Route 60 (US 60).
