HistoryKETW was initially proposed by Tomlinson-Leis Communications, L.P. through a short form application filed with the Federal Communications Commission and granted on November 6, 2015. The facility's transmission site is proposed to be constructed near Broad Street in the small town of Oakwood giving the community its first licensed aural service. KETW was granted the call sign on September 27, 2018. The proposed facility is permitted to operate at an ERP of 100 watts, from an elevation of 19.2 meters height above average terrain. Tomlinson-Leis Communications sold the construction permit for the facility to North Texas Radio Group, L.P. on January 23, 2018.
