Prior to his election as an MP, Waugh had been a longtime sportscaster with CTV Saskatoon and a member of Saskatoon's public school board.[2] Waugh has stated he is opposed to abortion, physician-assisted suicide, Catholic Education and the legalization of marijuana.[3] In 2016, at a sports award ceremony, Waugh claimed that female athletes are treated as good or better than their male counterparts. That comment received heavy criticism from female and male athletes alike, and concern given that Waugh sits on the Canadian parliamentary committee examining women and girls in sport.[4] Electoral recordFederal{{Canadian election result/top|CA|2015|Saskatoon—Grasswood|percent=yes|change=yes|expenditures=yes}}{{CANelec|CA|Conservative|Kevin Waugh|19,166|41.6|-8.62|–}}{{CANelec|CA|NDP|Scott Bell|13,909|30.2|-9.64|–}}{{CANelec|CA|Liberal|Tracy Muggli|12,165|26.4|+19.09|–}}{{CANelec|CA|Green|Mark Bigland-Pritchard|846|1.8|-0.69|–}}{{Canadian election result/total|Total valid votes/Expense limit|46,086|100.0 | |$193,171.88}}{{Canadian election result/total|Total rejected ballots|137|–|–}}{{Canadian election result/total|Turnout|46,223|78.59|–}}{{Canadian election result/total|Eligible voters|58,810}}{{CANelec/hold|CA|Conservative|-9.13}}{{CANelec/source|Source: Elections Canada[5][6]}}{{end}}Provincial{{Election box begin | title=Saskatchewan general election, 2003: Saskatoon Greystone}}|-{{Canadian_politics/party_colours/NDP/row}} | style="width: 130px" |NDP |Peter Prebble |align="right"|4,287 |align="right"|49.09 |align="right"|+1.23{{CANelec |SK |Saskatchewan |Kevin Waugh|2,844 |32.57 |-0.40}}{{CANelec|SK|Liberal|Herta Barron|1,552|17.77|-1.40}}{{CANelec|SK|New Green Alliance|Brian Berezowski|50|0.57|*}} |- bgcolor="white" | Total | 8,733 | 100.00 | {{election box end}}Municipal
