In 2017 it had a total population of 4,331 people.[1] HistoryThe subdistrict was created effective August 1, 1986 by splitting off 5 administrative villages from Na Kacha.[2] In 1990, it was one of two subdistricts which were split off from Chawang District and formed the new minor district Tham Phannara.[3] AdministrationCentral administrationThe tambon is subdivided into 8 administrative villages (muban).
