BoundariesThe constituency encompasses Koyra and Paikgachha upazilas.[2][3] HistoryThe constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973. Ahead of the 2008 general election, the Election Commission redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the 2001 Bangladesh census.[4] The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.[5] Ahead of the 2014 general election, the Election Commission expanded the boundaries of the constituency. Previously it had excluded one union parishad of Paikgachha Upazila: Deluti.[3][7] Members of ParliamentElectionsElections in the 2010sSheikh Md. Nurul Haque was elected unopposed in the 2014 general election after opposition parties withdrew their candidacies in a boycott of the election.[13] Elections in the 2000s{{Election box begin | title=General Election 2008: Khulna-6[2][15][16]}}{{Election box candidate with party link||party = Bangladesh Awami League |candidate = Sohorab Ali Sana |votes = 131,121 |percentage = 52.3 |change = +12.6 }}{{Election box candidate with party link| |party = Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami |candidate = Shah Md.
