Maharaja Kirit Bikram Kishore Manikya was 15th and last King of Tripura, a princely state in northeastern India. He was born on December 13, 1933, at the Ujjayanta palace in the heart of Agartala. His formal coronation was held in 1941 but he could never become the king. He was elected a Congress MP thrice in 1967, 1977 and 1989. He died in 2006 at the age of 73 at Kolkata.
