{{orphan|date=September 2018}}Kirsten Gram-Hanssen is a Danish professor at the Danish Building Research Institute of Aalborg University.^[1] Her research is centered on housing, with a broad perspective on related topics such as lifestyle, everyday life, consumerism, and the environment.^[2]

Gram-Hanssens's research has had an impact on the understanding and application of technology for energy efficiency in housing. She has pointed to the need for more specification in requirements for the saving of energy, thus departing from the traditional single-minded focus on thermal insulation. Gram-Hanssen has also studied how people discern between their all-year residence and their recreational summer cottage.^[3]

Education

Gram-Hanssen graduated with a Masters of Engineering in 1991 from the Technical University of Denmark. In 1996, she was awarded a PhD.^[4]
