The Knops blood group system was established in 1991. It was named after Mrs. Knops, the first {{w|antibody}} producer. It consists of eight antigens: Kn{{sup|a}}, Kn{{sup|b}}, McC{{sup|a}}, SI1, Yk{{sup|a}}, McC{{sup|b}}, SI2, and SI3.
