The Kuga Naa (native: Kuɣu Naa, pronounced Ku u Naa) is an elder in the court of the Yaa Naa, in the Kingdom of Dagbon in northern Ghana,[1] and head of a four member committee that constitute the kingmakers of Dagbon. The current Kuga Naa is Abdulai Adam II.[2] The Kingmakers of Dagbon are the ultimate custodians of the Dagbon constitution, with the Kuga Naa acting as the mouthpiece for the oracle that chooses a new Yaa Naa. The other Kingmakers are Tugurinam and Gomli; who are also courtiers at the Gbewaa Palace, and Gushei Naa; the chief of Gushegu.[3] References1. ^{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com.gh/books?id=aWU46V-1nB8C&pg=PA177&dq=kuga+naa&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjPx5ybnqfgAhV2ThUIHXJrDKQQ6AEIJjAA#v=onepage&q=kuga%20naa&f=false|title=Germany and Its West African Colonies: "excavations" of German Colonialism in Post-colonial Times|last=Apoh|first=Wazi|last2=Lundt|first2=Bea|date=2013|publisher=LIT Verlag Münster|isbn=9783643903037|language=en}} {{cat improve|date=February 2019}}{{Ghana-gov-stub}}2. ^{{Cite web|url=http://zaaradio.com/local/head-of-andani-family-now-new-dagbon-overlord/|title=Head of Andani family now new Dagbon overlord|language=en-US|access-date=2019-02-06}} 3. ^{{Cite book|url=https://books.google.com.gh/books?id=6MQ-5Elyg2kC&pg=PT94&lpg=PT94&dq=yaa+naa+kuga+naa+grass&source=bl&ots=sUA11zaYcf&sig=ACfU3U0n96ComI1FH4fQ_LNLJA9XY_HhbQ&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi93pn1o6fgAhXxURUIHUbvDvcQ6AEwC3oECAIQAQ#v=onepage&q=yaa%20naa%20kuga%20naa%20grass&f=false|title=Chiefs, Priests, and Praise-singers: History, Politics, and Land Ownership in Northern Ghana|last=MacGaffey|first=Wyatt|date=2013|publisher=University of Virginia Press|isbn=9780813933863|language=en}} 1 : Dagbon |
