It blooms between September and November producing pink flowers. Often found on low slopes and rocky ridges in a small area along the southern coast in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia on the Esperance Plains where it grows in clay or loamy sands over laterite.[1] The species was first formally described by Hellmut R. Toelken in 1996 in the article A revision of the genus Kunzea (Myrtaceae) in the Journal of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. There are two subspecies:
