It blooms between October and November producing yellow to yellow-green flowers. Often found around marshes and swampy areas in coastal areas of the South West region of Western Australia.[1] The species was first formally described by Hellmut R. Toelken in 1996 in the article A revision of the genus Kunzea (Myrtaceae) in the Journal of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
