The lake is to the south of Bulanık ilçe (district) of Muş Province at about {{coord|39|01|N|42|18|E}}. Its distance to Bulanık is {{convert|10|km}}. It is situated on a high plateau of {{convert|1600|m}} [1] Its area is about {{convert|10|km2}} and its maximum depth is {{convert|7|m}}. The area and the depth don't fluctuate between summer and winter. The lake is fed by Şeyhkorum Creek and some smaller creeks.[2] FaunaGadwall, ruddy shelduck, demoiselle crane are among the bird population of the lake. Animal husbandry is one of the major economic activities around the lake.
