释义 |
The Lapčan family ({{Lang-hr|Lapčani}}) was a Croatian noble family and one of the twelve tribes of the Kingdom of Croatia. Their seat was in the town of Lapac in the former Lučka županija, Dalmatia. The first known member is Viniho Lapčanin, who married the Croatian princess Claudia, daughter of King Demetrius Zvonimir. For this marriage, he was supposedly given estates in Karin, Dalmatia. According to an addition to the chronicle Historia Salonitana of Thomas the Archdeacon, a prefect (župan) called Martin from the Karinjan and Lapčan families was one of the Croatian representatives in Croatian negotiations with the King Coloman of Hungary (1102–1116). In 1322, King Charles I (1301–1342) gave the Croatian nobility even more privileges and rights. In 1360, King Louis I fully confirmed the possession of the estates in Karin by the Lapčan family, and after this, one branch separated and began calling themselves "Karinjani" (literally meaning "of Karin"). From the Lapčan family, there originated the Drašković, Oršić and Utješinović families.[1] Notable membersPriest Martinac, a Croatian Glagolithic scribe, calligraphist and illuminator from the 15th century. Considered to be the founder of Croatian patriotic poetry. See also
