She worked with Brooklyn artist Isidro Blasco. She has shown at the Carnegie Museum of Art, Space Gallery, and has shown her work at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. She has collaborated on community art projects in Pittsburgh.[1][2][3][4][5] Trok's work was selected to highlight the lack of publicity of local women artists in the "Seen in Pittsburgh: Works on Paper by Women" by Graham Shearing. He hoped to "hand the curation of the show over to a rotating group of other curatorially minded individuals, preferably women."[6][7] The pieces have been described as resembling lace. The collages have depth due to them hanging by fine wire behind each other, existing in three or more planes constructed of and cut paper. Other materials include window panes, vinyl, file folders, and other building supplies. and scrapped building supplies. Some of her work incorporates discarded windowpanes, with dimension achieved by the application of vinyl to both sides of the glass. The pieces are constructed to utilize lighting to emphasize the shadows cast by the cut outs.[8][9][10] References1. ^{{cite web | access-date=26 February 2016 | title=Westmoreland museum embraces spontaneity in its temporary space | work=Pittsburgh Post-Gazette | date=16 January 2014 | last=Thomas | first=Mary | postscript=; Access provided by the University of Pittsburgh | url=http://www.post-gazette.com/local/south/2014/01/16/Westmoreland-museum-embraces-spontaneity-in-its-temporary-space/stories/201401160009}} {{Authority control}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Trok, Laurie}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.post-gazette.com/life/seen/2015/08/03/Dinner-Lab-July-Edition/stories/201508030031|title=Dinner Lab (July Edition)|work=Pittsburgh Post-Gazette}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/short-list-november-26-december-2/Content?oid=1793454|title=Short List|work=Pittsburgh City Paper}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.post-gazette.com/ae/art-architecture/2014/11/26/Museums-offer-Thanksgiving-weekend-family-activities/stories/201411260049|title=Art notes: Museums offer Thanksgiving weekend family activities|work=Pittsburgh Post-Gazette}} 5. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.post-gazette.com/local/south/2014/01/16/Westmoreland-museum-embraces-spontaneity-in-its-temporary-space/stories/201401160009|title=Westmoreland museum embraces spontaneity in its temporary space|work=Pittsburgh Post-Gazette}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.post-gazette.com/ae/art-architecture/2014/04/09/An-update-on-Westmoreland-women-artists-in-exhibit/stories/201404090039|title=Art Notes: An update on Westmoreland; women artists in exhibit|work=Pittsburgh Post-Gazette}} 7. ^http://www.nextpittsburgh.com/next-up/next-up-laurie-trok/ 8. ^{{cite web|url=http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/guide/in-the-artists-studio-laurie-trok/|title=In The Artist’s Studio: Laurie Trok|publisher=CBS-Pittsburgh|date=23 January 2012 | access-date=26 February 2016}} 9. ^Art Notes: Arts project aims to bridge communities, ArticlePittsburgh Post-Gazette (Pittsburgh, PA), May 1, 2013 10. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/artists-explore-their-obsessions-at-space/Content?oid=1800792|title=Artists explore their Obsessions at Space|work=Pittsburgh City Paper}} 11 : Artists from Pittsburgh|American women artists|American art historians|Gender studies academics|Feminist artists|Duquesne University alumni|Year of birth missing (living people)|Living people|Historians from Pennsylvania|Women art historians|American women historians |
