Lee Boo-jin (born 1969/70) is a South Korean billionaire businesswoman, and the president and chief executive of Hotel Shilla, one of Seoul's leading hotels and conference centres.

Early life

She is the daughter of Lee Kun-hee, the billionaire chairman of Samsung Group.[1] She earned a bachelor's degree from Yonsei University,[1] and later in her career, an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, US.[2]

Career

As of November 2017, her net worth was estimated at US$2.1 billion.[1]

In November 2017, she was assessed by Forbes as being the 93rd most powerful woman in the world.[3]

Personal life

She lives in Seoul, South Korea.[1]

In 1999, she married Im Woo-jae, known in the South Korean press as "Mr. Cinderella" because of his humble background, as an "employee of a security service affiliate of Samsung Group".[2] They separated in 2012, and have one son together.[1]

In a court ruling in July 2017, Lee was ordered to pay her ex-husband Im Woo-jae $7.6 million, as part of their divorce settlement, with Lee receiving sole custody of their son.[2] Im is counter-suing, seeking $1.1 billion as a division of assets.[2]
