HistoryThe station development was announced in 2014,{{fact|date=September 2016}} when Translink bought the South Eastern Regional College just outside Lisburn and demolished it in apparent preparation of the opening of the station.{{fact|date=September 2016}} The work was scheduled to begin at the end of 2015 and complete during 2016,{{fact|date=September 2016}} however, as of September 2016, no further announcements have been made and no construction has begun.
