Jimi Hendrix was an American guitarist and singer-songwriter whose career spanned from 1962 to 1970. This list includes songs that he recorded as a group leader or a solo artist from October 1966 to September 1970{{sfn|McDermott|Kramer|Cox|2009|pp=22, 247}} that have been officially released in various formats.{{efn|Bootleg recordings (except the "official bootleg" series), gray market releases, and recordings with Hendrix as a sideman are not included; also, tracks included on The Radio Show and The Jimi Hendrix Story, which are often edited or have voice overs, are not included on this list{{sfn|Shapiro|Glebbeek|1990|p=558}}}} They are issued in the name of his group, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and in his own name (although sometimes referred to by the names of his interim groups, Gypsy Sun and Rainbows, Band of Gypsys, or the Cry of Love touring band).{{sfn|Geldheart|Rodham|2007|p=18}}{{sfn|Belmo|Loveless|1998|p=27}}

Of the more than 180 individual titles listed, Hendrix wrote all, except for about 36 (band members Noel Redding, Buddy Miles, Mitch Mitchell, and Larry Lee are credited with six songs; Bob Dylan accounts for four). About 61 were issued between December 1966 to September 1970{{sfn|Belmo|Loveless|1998|pp=29–30, 35–37}} and over 119 have been released subsequently. Many of the posthumous releases are live recordings and alternate versions of songs already issued; several are demos, works in progress, and jams that Hendrix may or may not have completed.{{sfn|Geldeart|Rodham|2007|p=111}}{{efn|Some releases have parts recorded years later. Several produced by Alan Douglas have musicians who never worked with Hendrix;{{sfn|Shapiro|Glebbeek|1990|pp=547, 549}} some have been re-released with the original parts intact{{sfn|McDermott|2013|pp=7, 12, 16}}}}

Hendrix often recorded more than one version of a song, both live and in the studio. Upon release, they were sometimes given different names or use different spellings. The songs are first listed here using the titles and spellings as they appear on the original releases ("Foxy Lady" rather than "Foxey Lady", etc.). These are followed by some of the alternate names and spellings. For the songs that were originally released on the various artists Cotillion Records Woodstock albums, the later more common Experience Hendrix-produced albums song titles are used first ("Villanova Junction" instead of "Instrumental Solo", etc.)
