The unemployment rate in Spain had skyrocketed to a high of 27% in 2013 since the Great Recession of 2008, but as of 2016 the unemployment rate is currently 21%. It is estimated that it will take until 2020 to return to the pre-recession unemployment rate. The largest community, Andalusia, has the highest unemployment rate of any community at 31%.
