This lake straddles the townships of Buade and Ventadour. Forestry is the main economic activity of the sector. Recreational tourism activities come second. The forest road route 212 connecting Obedjiwan, Quebec and La Tuque passes south of Dubois Lake and Buade Lake (Normandin River). Other secondary forest roads serve the vicinity of the lake. The surface of Little Buade Lake is usually frozen from early November to mid-May, however safe ice circulation is generally from mid-November to mid-April.
