Logan Kilgore (born May 24, 1990) is an American professional Canadian football quarterback who is currently a member of the Edmonton Eskimos. He started three games for the Toronto Argonauts in 2016.

Early life and education

Kilgore attended Jesuit High School and went to Bakersfield College upon graduation. He transferred to Middle Tennessee State University after being recruited by scouts from the university. Kilgore graduated from MTSU with a MBA in 2013.[1]

Career

College career

Kilgore started his college football career for the Bakersfield Renegades in 2009. At Bakersfield, he threw for 2,512 yards and 22 touchdowns. Following his move to Middle Tennessee in 2010, he began playing for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team.[2] During his time with the Blue Raiders from 2010 to 2013, Kilgore threw for 7,489 yards and 53 touchdowns. He was also the first Blue Raider to have three consecutive seasons of 2,000 yards.[3]

Professional career

Kilgore was signed to the New Orleans Saints as a free agent in 2014. He played at the Saints's training camp and was cut from the team in September 2014.[4] After leaving the Saints, Kilgore played on the Toronto Argonauts's practice team in 2015. The following year, Kilgore became the Argos's starting quarterback after Ricky Ray was injured.[5] Kilgore played in seven games, starting three, during the 2016 season, completing 55.3% of his passes for 728 yards and two touchdowns with 10 interceptions.[6] Kilgore's time for the Argos ended in April 2017 when he was released from the team.[6] A few months later, Kilgore was signed to the Hamilton Tiger Cats in June 2017[7] but was subsequently released in August 2017.[8]

Honours

Kilgore was named the Northern Conference Offensive Player of the Year at Bakersfield College in 2009.[9]
