HistoryLive the Language (LTL) Mandarin School was founded by Andreas Laimböck in 2007 in Beijing to provide Chinese language courses to foreign students in China.[4][5] It also started offering an internship program alongside the courses.[6][7] The school later expanded its operation, setting up separate campuses in Shanghai and Chengde.[8][9] In 2011, the school started offering an immersion program in Chengde where students can stay with Chinese families and learn Mandarin Chinese and culture through language immersion.[10][11][12] In 2012, the school launched a university pathway programme to help foreign students learn enough Chinese to earn university degrees in mainland China.[13] In 2016 LTL opened its first school in Shanghai.[14][15] In 2019 the school expanded further by opening a school in Taipei, Taiwan.
