释义 |
HistoryA post office was established at Mackiesville in 1890, and remained in operation until 1904. This post office was thought to be the post office that also served the nearby unincorporated community of Saint Johns Colony. The settlement had a cotton gin and gristmill, a general store, and only a paltry 15 residents. After the post office closed in 1904, Mackiesville faded, and it did not appear on county highway maps or had any other further population estimates available since then.[1] Reference1. ^1 {{Handbook of Texas|id=hrmel |name=Mackiesville, TX}} {{Caldwell County, Texas}}{{coord missing|Texas}}{{CaldwellCountyTX-geo-stub}} 3 : Ghost towns in Texas|Ghost towns in Central Texas|Caldwell County, Texas |
