Mae & George is an upcoming British biographical miniseries created by Mae Martin. The series start Mae as himself, a recovering addict who is trying to face every facts in her life.

Premise

The series follows recovering addict and comedian Mae, who is trying to control the addictive behaviours and intense romanticism that permeate every facet of her life. Life is further complicated by a new and all consuming relationship with her new girlfriend George. The story is described as “deeply personal” and “darkly hilarious” and centers around the unique pressures of navigating the modern-day fluid landscape of gender and sexuality."^[1]

Production

On March 2018, Mae announced that Netflix and Channel 4 had given the production a series order for a first season consisting of six episodes. The series was created by Mae Martin, who will also serve as writer alongside Joe Hampson. Ally Pankiw will serve as director. Ben Farrell and Hannah Mackay are co-executive producers and Kelly McGolpin will serve as producer. Production companies involved with the series include Netflix and E4.^[1]

Casting

Alongside the initial series order announcement, it was confirmed that Mae Martin would star in the series playing herself, while the actress who will portray her girlfriend George are yet still unknown.^[1]
