He was a recipient of Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and Tulsi Award.[2] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2004, for his contributions to Gotipua dance.[4] Das died on 5 December 2008,[5] but his legacy is carried forward by his son, Pradyumna Kumar Mishra, himself a noted choreographer and dancer.[6] See also
