| name = Mahl | settlement_type = Unincorporated Town | population_total = 1 family (actual number in family members unknown) | population_as_of = 1990 }} Mahl is an unincorporated community in Nacogdoches County, Texas. It is located on Highway 259 near the City of Nacogdoches. HistoryMahl was founded early 1900's during the Gilded age when the Texas and New Orleans Railroad was built. The town got its name after the last name of a local railroad official, albeit the name backwards. The post office was built later that year and the local school was founded in 1904, where nearly 60 students received quality education. The "golden age" of the town was in the mid 1910s, when the town had 2 stores, the school, saloon, blacksmith, cotton gin, and a home of 100 residents. The 2 world wars caused the town to decline, and by the 1950s the school and last business shut down. By 1990, 1 household was recorded as a "Mahlite".[1] EducationThe Central Heights Independent School District serves the 1 household in Mahl.[2] References1. ^{{Cite web|url=https://tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/htm05|title=MAHL, TX|last=CHRISTOPHER|first=LONG,|date=2010-06-15|website=tshaonline.org|access-date=2016-12-19}} {{Nacogdoches County, Texas}}{{coord|31|44|02|N|94|40|35|W|type:city_region:US-TX_source:GNIS-enwiki|display=title}}2. ^{{Cite web|url=https://www.maptechnica.com/school-district-map/TX/Central%20Heights%20Independent%20School%20District/unsd/4813440|title=Central Heights ISD :: School District Map of the Central Heights ISD :: MapTechnica|website=www.maptechnica.com|access-date=2016-12-19}} 2 : Unincorporated communities in Nacogdoches County, Texas|Unincorporated communities in Texas |
