Professional LifePajnkihar was the first nurse who obtained a PhD degree in Nursing in Slovenia and led the establishment of the first PhD program in nursing in Slovenia. On her initiative first Institute for Nursing in Slovenia was established in 1996. Pajnkihar was also first head of Institute for Nursing, which aims to recognize nursing as a science discipline and a profession in Slovenia.[3] She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau the Honor Society of Nursing. Pajnkihar’s clinical area is child and adolescent nursing. She has special interest in nursing theories and researching caring, qualitative research and evidence-based nursing for safety, caring and efficient patient care. AwardsPajnkihar is a Fellow (2018) of the American Academy of Nursing.[4] Publications
