释义 |
Malla Kshatriya or Malo are a caste indigenous to Bengal. HistoryThey are, by origin, Brahmakshatriya. They derive from a family whose father was a Rigvedic Brahmin and mother was a daughter from the Varman dynasty. They are Chandravansis (descending from lunar dynasty). Common ancestry has been found from Angiras pravara.{{cn|date=February 2019}} In the period of Sena dynasty, they were considered to be Shudras, ancient texts suggest that they were a mixed race of Brahmins and Kshatriyas. They practice the rite of Upanayana. In the Hindu Varna division, Brahmakshatriya or Murdhabhishikta have a Brahmin father and a Kshatriya mother. They are Brahmin who pursue royalty, and hence concurrently adopt the Kshatriya Varna or are Kshatriya who adopted Brahmin Varna because of Shree Parsuram. According to Manusmriti, such people are treated equally to Brahmins. Parasurama is a classic example of a Brahmakshatriya. They inherit the right of Upanayana. References 1 : Castes |
