Manjusha Faugoo (born 22 August 1991) is an awardee in the 100 Most Influential Women in Mauritius 2018 and a beauty queen who was crowned Miss International Mauritius 2015. .[1] She is also a blogger[2] and an advocate for depression awareness and suicide prevention.[3] As a finalist in Estrella Mauritius, she further competed in Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 in Philippines[4]. Though she did not win any International Award, she was among the Top 3 Countries for People's Choice. Early life and educationManjusha was born and brought up in Mauritius to a family consisting of her parents and three elder brothers. She completed her LLB(Hons) from Middlesex University. In the year 2012, she was the youngest candidate in the village elections where she came up with a large number of votes, allowing her to be among the Top 12 contenders amid 80 other contestants. Modelling and PageantryManjusha started modelling at the age of 18 soon after she completed college. She has worked for few national brands and has also been featured in a local music video.[5] In the year 2017, she appeared in the music video for Sanam (band) for the song, "Itni door."[6].[7] Within one week, the video reached over 1 Million views allowing her to gain wider recognition. Her journey towards pageantry started in 2011 when she first auditioned for the Miss Mauritius National pageant. She was not selected and thus, applied again in 2013. Upon selection that year, she had to quit the competition since the date for the finals coincided with her law exams. On her third attempt for the title in 2015, she was crowned Miss International Mauritius. She also won the Miss Sports Award and was voted by the contestants as Miss Congeniality.[8] [9] Miss InternationalCrowned in June 2015, she became the next Miss Mauritius to compete for Miss International which was to take place on 27 October 2016, at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan. After months of training and her contributions as a titleholder, in September 2016 she was unfairly replaced by someone else to compete internationally.{{cn|date=June 2018}} She stood against the unfair treatment of the Organization and with the help of her lawyer and the media, she exposed the unprofessionalism of the Organization.{{cn|date=June 2018}} This opened the way for past titleholders to come out and speak against the wrongs they endured during their year of reign.
