It is housed on the fifth floor of Storehouse No. 2, U.S. Navy Fleet Supply Base, a {{convert|1100000|sqft|adj=on}} building at 850 Third Avenue owned by the City of New York, which has been renamed to Liberty View Industrial Plaza.[1][2] The incubator offers 1,500 to 30,000 square foot spaces for manufacturing startups and is operated by Manufacture New York, a private company, since December 2014.[3][4][5] The project was the idea of Bob Bland, a New York fashion designer who secured a $50,000 grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to found Manufacture New York and locate an incubator space in the city. In 2016, the Brooklyn Innovation Hub became a member of Advanced Functional Fabrics of America.[7][8] References1. ^1 {{citation|title=Property highlights: Liberty View Industrial Plaza |publisher=CBRE|url=http://www.cbre.us/o/outerboroughs/AssetLibrary/Liberty%20View%20Industrial%20Plaza%20updated%203.13.pdf}} [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]2. ^1 {{citation|title=Ole Sondresen on his Manufacturing Innovation Hub for Apparel, Textiles & Wearable Tech|author=STEFANIE Waldek|date=December 31, 2014|work=Architectural Digest|url=http://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/ole-sondresen-manufacture-hub-brooklyn}} 3. ^1 {{citation|publisher=New York City Economic Development Corporation|title=New Fashion Design and Manufacturing Hub in Brooklyn|date=December 4, 2014|url=http://www.nycedc.com/press-release/deputy-mayor-alicia-glen-nycedc-president-kyle-kimball-manufacture-new-york-and-salmar}} 4. ^1 {{citation|title=US Apparel Manufacturing Moving Forward with New Hub in New York|date=December 5, 2014|author=Adrienne Selko|work=Industry Week|url=http://www.industryweek.com/expansion-management/us-apparel-manufacturing-moving-forward-new-hub-new-york}} 5. ^1 {{citation|title=NYC to Invest $3.5M in Fashion Incubator in Brooklyn: City officials today will reveal plans to invest in a new fashion epicenter called the Manufacturing Innovation Hub for Apparel, Textiles & Wearable Tech.|work=Women's Wear Daily|date=December 4, 2014|url=http://wwd.com/fashion-news/fashion-features/nyc-to-back-brooklyn-fashion-hub-8056820/}} 6. ^1 {{citation|date=April 21, 2016 |title=New training hub to focus on high-tech textiles: A new training center at Manufacturing New York is designed to revitalize New York City's dwindling manufacturing industry|author= Erica Davies |work=Crain's New York|url=http://www.crainsnewyork.com/article/20160421/TECHNOLOGY/160419950/mit-fit-and-manufacture-new-york-to-bring-high-tech-textiles-to-new-york-city}} 7. ^1 {{citation|title=Manufacture New York Blossoms in Brooklyn: In September 2015, MNY became part of the Manufacturing Innovation Hub for Apparel, Textiles & Wearable Tech in Sunset Park, Brooklyn|author=Arthur Friedman|work=Women's Wear Daily|date=May 10, 2016|url=http://wwd.com/business-news/government-trade/manufacture-new-york-blossoms-brooklyn-10426994/}} }} Further reading
