Go careerMariya Zakharchenko interested in Go since 2005 when she was 9 years old. In 2005 she began to study this game in the section for juniors of Kyiv. Her Go coach was Yuri Plusch (5 dan). During a few years Mariya also participated in numerous Ukrainian, European and international amateur competitions. While studying in South Korea, Mariya has made significant and important progress.[1] In 2008, she won official status of Korean Incey (5th grade school, women), meaning "professional school student Go" of Korean Association of Baduk. In 2009, Mariya confirmed her level of skills in the qualifying competitions and started to study fourth and soon, became third class.[2] In 2011, Mariya was among the 12 best women - players[3] (level of 7Dan amateur) of the South Korea - the country with the most players of planet. 2012, Mariya reached first class and received a diploma.
