Armstrong and Company Carriage Factory, located at 433 Chapel St. in New Haven, Connecticut, was built in 1882. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.[1] The company was established in 1859, and was run by M. Armstrong and two sons.[2] The building, a four-story brick building located between Hamilton and South Wallace Street on the north side of Chapel Street, served in part as the home of the print edition of the New Haven Independent between 1986 and 1989. Taken over by the city, the building was sold to a developer in 2002, but financing and other issues delayed redevelopment of the building as a residential commercial property.[3] See also
