}}MaryAnn Tanedo is a Grammy award-winning American film and music video producer, who began her career in the early 1990s.[1] Over the span of her career, Tanedo has produced music videos for a wide range of chart-topping artists including Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Juanes, Gwen Stefani, Moby, Enrique Iglesias, Faith Hill, Dre, Katy Perry, M.I.A., Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Martin, Maroon 5, Joss Stone, Pussycat Dolls, Eminem, Selena Gomez, and various others.[2] Among the directors she has produced for are Joseph Kahn, Emil Nava, Marcos Siega, Darren Grant, Paul Hunter, the Hughes Brothers and Angela Alvarado.[3]

Tanedo’s early producing credits include music videos for Moby & Gwen Stefani’s "South Side" (2000)[4] and the Grammy-nominated video for Jamiroquai “Feels Just Like It Should” (2005),[5] both directed by Joseph Kahn.

The producer’s penchant for socially conscious content can be noted throughout her career, perhaps most so in 2010 when she joined Simon Cowell and director Joseph Kahn to produce a five-minute documentary music video for "Everybody Hurts", the charity single to raise money for the victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.[6]

Tanedo’s film producing credits include the 2011 horror/comedy feature Detention directed by Joseph Kahn, and the multiple film festival award-winning 2014 short drama, Pony, written and directed by Candice Carella. Tanedo produced the 2017 boxing-themed feature, Gun, written and directed by Sam Upton.[7] Tanedo rejoined writer/director Candice Carella to produce the 2017 short film, Three Days in the Hole, about a young girl who is captured by ISIS and sold into slavery.[8] The film was inspired by the true stories of Yezidi women who have suffered great atrocities at the hands of ISIS.[9]

Awards and nominations

In 2001, Tanedo was nominated for the Academy of Country Music's Video of the Year Award for Faith Hill’s “The Way You Love Me”, directed by Joseph Kahn.[10] In 2004, she was awarded a Latin Grammy for Best Music Video for Robi Rosa's “Mas y Mas” directed by Angela Alvarado.[11] At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Tanedo won two Moonman awards- Best Hip Hop Video for Eminem's "We Made You" and Best Pop Video for Britney Spears' "Womanizer", both directed by Joseph Kahn.[12] In 2011, Tanedo was nominated for a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video for "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem & Rihanna, directed by Joseph Kahn.[13] In 2016, she won a VMA Moonman for Best Male Video for Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna "This Is What You Came For", directed by Emil Nava.

The 2014 short drama, Pony, produced by Tanedo and written and directed by Candice Carella, received over 32 awards and nominations at film festivals worldwide, including winning Best Short Film at the 2016 Canada International Film Festival, a Gold Lion for Best Screenplay at the 2015 London Film Festival, and a Silver Award for Best Narrative Short at the 2015 International Independent Film Awards.[14]
