The episode was written by series creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf and was directed by Eric Laneuville. Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) investigate the murders of Fortune Tellers named Laszlo (Corey Brunish) & Mabel Kurlon (Dana Green). Laszlo is a ferret-like wesen called a Fado. The murders involve the Wesen Council which leads Nick and Hank to a mysterious "manticore" bounty hunter named Jonathon Wilde (Arnold Vosloo) from Archer City, Texas. Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) meets up with Henrietta (Garcelle Beauvais) and is given bad news. Viktor (Alexis Denisof) and Adalind (Claire Coffee) head back to Portland from Austria to find baby Diana's whereabouts. ReceptionViewersThe episode was viewed by 4.67 million people, earning a 1.2/4 in the 18-49 rating demographics on the Nielson ratings scale, ranking third on its timeslot and seventh for the night in the 18-49 demographics, behind 20/20, Last Man Standing, Undercover Boss, Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, and Shark Tank.[1] This was a 4% decrease in viewership from the previous episode, which was watched by 4.85 million viewers with a 1.3/4.[2] This means that 1.2 percent of all households with televisions watched the episode, while 4 percent of all households watching television at that time watched it. Kathleen Wiedel from TV Fanatic, gave a 4.5 star rating out of 5, stating: "What happens when a Wesen Council hitman comes to town? Absolute awesomeness, that's what! On Grimm Season 4 Episode 12, Juliette single-handedly took down The Mummy, and it's hands-down her best scene in the entire series."[4] MaryAnn Sleasman from TV.com, wrote, "So, Wesen bounty hunters and Council - sanctioned hits are a thing now. I love it. There's also a tip hotline, which I find hilarious due to its juxtaposition of modern and traditional.
