It is the only dry-stone building known in Edmonson County besides consumptive huts built within Mammoth Caves.[3] It is a single-room {{convert|30x60|ft|m}} dry-stone store building, built on a bank above the Green River, in what was in 1983 a picturesque flat meadow. It is built of quarried, shaped stone that is "fossiliferous, oolitic, bioclastic limestone: Glen Dean member of lower Mississippian series."[2] The site was listed for its archeological information potential.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{NRISref|version=2013a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{Kentucky-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite web|url={{NRHP url|id=87000172}}|title=Kentucky Historic Resources Inventory: Mathias Willis General Store House |publisher=National Park Service|author=rarolyn Murray-Wooley|date=December 1983 |accessdate=May 5, 2018}} With {{NRHP url|id=87000172|photos=y|title=accompanying four photos from 1983}} 1 : National Register of Historic Places in Edmonson County, Kentucky |
