Matt Carriker (born October 21, 1986) is an American veterinarian and YouTuber. Carriker is the founder of three YouTube channels, Demolition Ranch, Vet Ranch, and Off The Ranch. He practices veterinary medicine at Fair Oaks Ranch Veterinary Clinic.

Early life and education

Matt Carriker was born October 21, 1986. He was raised with his sister and brothers in Texas.[1] His father is a veterinarian.[2] Carriker attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2008 and received his veterinary license in 2012.[3][4][1]

Career

Carriker practices veterinary medicine at Fair Oaks Ranch Veterinary Clinic in Boerne, Texas.[5][6]

Demolition Ranch

In 2011, Carriker started his YouTube channel, Demolition Ranch, as a veterinary student.[1][3] The channel began with him and friends using a GoPro to record themselves using guns.[3] Videos topics include gun safety and reviews of firearms.[2][7]

Vet Ranch

Dr. Carricker bought the veterinary clinic from his father who also graduated from Texas A&M as a vet and occasional does a vet ranch video helping a homeless animal. Carriker founded Vet Ranch, a non-profit organization, in February 2014.[8][4] It is a group of veterinarians including fellow Texas A&M graduate Karri McCreary that treat animals from high-kill shelters and the street. Medical expenses are raised through donations and advertisements on the Vet Ranch YouTube channel.[5][8][2] Most animals come from San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA) which also helps find homes after the animals are treated.[5]

Off The Ranch

Carriker has a vlogging YouTube channel called Off The Ranch.[1] It includes videos about his family life outside of veterinary medicine and firearms.[9]

Personal life

Carriker is married to Meredith (née Atkinson). Together, they have three children, [1] Adalyn, Annie, and Lincoln.
