It covers an area of 178.5 km²[1] and recorded a population of 209,897 in the 2014 Moroccan census.[2] The seat of the prefecture is M'diq.[1] GeographyM'diq-Fnideq borders Fahs-Anjra Province to the west, Tétouan Province to the south, the Mediterranean Sea to the east, the Spanish exclave of Ceuta to the northeast and the Strait of Gibraltar to the north.
