Simonaire (born August 8, 1990) is a former American politician from Maryland and was the youngest member of the Maryland General Assembly. She served in the Assembly from 2014 to 2018. A native of Pasadena, Maryland, Simonarie attended Bob Jones University. Simonaire publicly came out as bisexual in April 2018 and told that she would like to become more involved with the LGBT rights movement and efforts to fight conversion therapy. Originally elected as a Republican, she joined the Democratic Party on October 15, 2018.[1][2][3] Simonaire left public office in 2018 because her views had changed so much. She is working as a cosmetic tattoo artist with burn patients, cancer patients and others to create the appearance of hair.[4][5] Her father is Republican State Senator Bryan Simonaire.
