(1906) }} Medinilla myriantha is a species of semi-epiphytic plant with pink flowers that are produced in the summer and spring. These plants are known to grow up to six feet tall. It is also known as the Malaysian orchid, but is actually a plant in the family Melastomataceae and is native to the Philippines.[1] There are many other types of Medinilla Myriantha such as the rose grapes,pixi,pink lantern and so on.Some of these later have fruit usually purple pink etc.These plants also are useful to grow if the place you live in humid.The genus has about a hundred varieties but only a few are commercially sold.{{Citation needed|date=November 2018}} EtymologyMedinilla is named for José de Medinilla y Pineda, who was governor of Mauritius (then known as the Marianne Islands) in 1820.[2]References1. ^Calero, K., Pitzer, T., & Alberte, J.
