It was described by W. Donald Duckworth in 1964. It is found in North America, where it has been recorded from Florida.[1][2] The wingspan is 17–19 mm. The forewings are white, with three large fuscous areas along the costa and a marginal and submarginal transverse row of fuscous dots at the apex, the marginal row darker and giving a sinuated effect to the termen. Another area of dark fuscous raised scales is found at the anal angle. The hindwings are very light fuscous.[3] EtymologyThe species was named in honor of C. P. Kimball who provided the specimens for the original description.[4] References1. ^{{cite web |last=Savela |first=Markku |url=http://ftp.funet.fi/pub/sci/bio/life/insecta/lepidoptera/ditrysia/gelechioidea/depressariidae/stenomatinae/menestomorpha/#kimballi |title=Menestomorpha kimballi (Duckworth, 1964) |website=Lepidoptera and Some Other Life Forms |accessdate=January 3, 2018}}. {{Taxonbar|from=Q25096098}}{{Depressariidae-stub}}2. ^Moth Photographers Group.
