Mickey Dollens (born August 22, 1987) is an American politician, activist, and educator. A member of the Democratic Party, he has been the State Representative for Oklahoma's 93rd House district since November 16, 2016. The district includes Oklahoma City.

Early career

Dollens taught 9th grade English at U.S. Grant High School from August 2015 to May 2016.[1]

Oklahoma House of Representatives

2016 election

While running for office, Dollens learned that he would be one of the 208 Oklahoma City Public Schools teachers laid off in 2016 due to the budget cuts set forth by the Oklahoma legislature.[2]

On November 8, Dollens defeated Republican candidate,[3] Jay Means, for the Oklahoma House of Representatives seat for District 93.

2018 election

On November 6, Dollens won re-election after successfully running an unopposed campaign.[4]

Dollens married Taylor Chargois on October 14, 2017. The couple had a son, Dean Van Dollens, on May 7, 2018.

Political positions

Dollens has prioritized education in both his 2016 and 2018 campaigns for the State House.
