Michael Mullally (born c. 1939)[1] is an American former college athletics administrator. He was the athletic director at Eastern Illinois University (1974–1979),[1] California State University, Fullerton (1979–1981), and Boise State University (1981–1982). At Boise State, Mullally succeeded longtime athletic director Lyle Smith in the summer of 1981.[2] Less than a year later, Mullally resigned in March 1982 following criticism of his proposed ticketing policy for the school's football and basketball games.[3][4] Assistant athletic director Gene Bleymaier was promoted by university president John Keiser and held the post for more than 29 years. Mullally owned several Checkers drive-in restaurants in the Kansas City area in 1990s; by 2001 he had retired to Florida.[5] References1. ^{{cite news |url=http://archives.chicagotribune.com/1979/06/23/page/197/article/in-the-wake-of-the-news |work=Chicago Tribune |agency=(column) |last=Condon |first=David |title=Two who could be Illini's new chief |date=June 23, 1979 |page=1, sec. 2 }} {{Eastern Illinois Panthers athletic director navbox}}{{Cal State Fullerton Titans athletic director navbox}}{{Boise State Broncos athletic director navbox}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Mullally, Mike}}2. ^1 {{cite news |url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=2VVOAAAAIBAJ&sjid=4-4DAAAAIBAJ&pg=1093%2C5655115 |newspaper=Spokesman-Review |location=(Spokane, Washington)|agency=Associated Press |title=BSU names director |date=May 13, 1981 |page=C3 }} 3. ^{{cite news |url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=TZlfAAAAIBAJ&sjid=iTEMAAAAIBAJ&pg=2859%2C484674 |newspaper=Lewiston Morning Tribune |location=(Idaho)|agency=Associated Press |title=BSU's Mullaly quits over ticket flap |date=March 2, 1982 |page=1C}} 4. ^{{cite news |url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=HdozAAAAIBAJ&sjid=EIcDAAAAIBAJ&pg=4909%2C5002977 |newspaper=The Bulletin |location=(Bend, Oregon)|agency=UPI|title=Boise State sacks AD over ticket flap |date=March 2, 1982|page=D-3 }} 5. ^{{cite news |url=http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/2001/03/05/story7.html |work=Kansas City Business Journal |location=(Missouri) |title=Sonic builds, buys its way toward being Kansas City's drive-in |date=March 4, 2001 |accessdate=March 17, 2017}} 5 : Year of birth missing (living people)|Living people|Boise State Broncos athletic directors|Cal State Fullerton Titans athletic directors|Eastern Illinois Panthers athletic directors |
