Mingyuan Hu is a Chinese British historian of art and literature. Hu read Classics, Philosophy, and Art History at the University of Glasgow, where she won the 2008 Herkless Prize as the most distinguished woman graduate of the Faculty of Arts.[1] From the same university she received her PhD in Literary History in 2014. Between 2013 and 2014 Hu was a Visiting Scholar at the Victoria and Albert Museum. In 2015 she became Lecturer in Art Histories of Asia at the University of Leeds. Since 2018 she is Research Associate at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Hu has published on twentieth-century intellectual histories in Europe and China[2] and on Chinese painting and calligraphy.[3][4] Her archival research in Paris led to a study of the preeminent translator of French literature, Fou Lei.[5] Selected worksMonograph
