Morton and first built in 1989.[1] The boat was the final design built by Mirage Yachts in Canada, with only a few completed before the company was sold and all production ended later in 1989.[2] DesignThe Mirage 39 is a small recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. It has a masthead sloop rig and a fixed fin keel. It displaces {{convert|16000|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} and carries {{convert|6000|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} of ballast.[1] The boat has a draft of {{convert|6.17|ft|m|abbr=on}} with the standard keel.[1] The boat is fitted with a Swedish Volvo Penta diesel engine of {{convert|27|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}}. The fuel tank holds {{convert|40|u.s.gal}} and the fresh water tank has a capacity of {{convert|75|u.s.gal}}.[1] The boat has a PHRF racing average handicap of 111.
