It opened in April 2016 and is situated at the Museum Square in Villa Alsberg, a town house designed in 1904 by Eduard Cuypers. The founders of the museum are gallery owners Lionel and Kim Logchies.[1][2] ExhibitionsThe first exhibitions in the Moco were Laugh Now, with works by graffiti artist Banksy, and Royal, with works by Andy Warhol. In June 2016, it was announced that Moco had purchased one of Banksy's painted police vans, which was to be exhibited in the museum's garden.[3] References1. ^Arjen Ribbens (2016), [https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2016/04/06/nieuw-moco-museum-mikt-op-lekker-toegankelijke-k-1606727-a441639 "Nieuw Moco museum mikt op 'lekker toegankelijke kunst'"] (in Dutch), NRC Handelsblad, 6 April 2016. 2. ^Rutger Pontzen (2016), "Het Moco toont vermakelijk werk" (in Dutch), De Volkskrant, 9 April 2016. 3. ^[https://web.archive.org/web/20161011103642/http://museumtijdschrift.nl/nieuws/banksy-swat-van-aangekocht-door-moco-museum-amsterdam/ "Banksy ‘SWAT Van’ aangekocht door Moco Museum Amsterdam"] (in Dutch), Museumtijdschrift, June 2016.
