'The Adelaide Repertory Theatre (The Rep) is an amateur theatre company in Adelaide, South Australia. It is the longest surviving amateur theatre company in the Southern Hemisphere.[1][2] It celebrated its centenary in 2008 having been set up in 1908 by students from the Elder Conservatorium.[3][4] The company currently presents four productions each year and The Arts Theatre is used by theatre groups and the community. The company has performed at many venues around Adelaide.[4] In 1963, the company opened the Arts Theatre. The first production there was the Peter Ustinov comedy, Romanoff and Juliet.[5] Awards
