}}Monochroa melagonella is a moth of the family Gelechiidae. It was described by Constant in 1895. It is found in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and on Cyprus.[1][2] The wingspan is about 8 mm.[3] The larvae feed on Rubia peregrina and Rubia tenuifolia. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine has the form of a large, transparent blotch. The frass is dispersed in black grains. Larvae can be found from March to July.[4] References1. ^funet.fi {{Taxonbar|from=Q13860937}}{{Monochroa-stub}}2. ^Fauna Europaea 3. ^CONSTANT, A.
