释义 |
The Monument to Hispanicity (in Spanish: Monumento a la Hispanidad) is located in the Spanish city of Madrid, in front of the Museum of the Americas in the University City. Opened on June 5, 1971 with the presence of the then Prince Juan Carlos de Borbón, it was created by Agustín de la Herrán Matorras, a Spanish sculptor.[1] The sculpture represents an old holm oak trunk that carries 3 figures in its upper part forming a group: a Spanish warrior mounted on his horse that helps raise an indigenous woman, representing the union of Spanish and Hispanic American cultures.[1][2][3] On the back of the sculpture, there's an inscription alluding to the inauguration of the monument.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web |url=https://musicaypitanzas.com/2013/11/12/el-monumento-a-la-hispanidad-y-el-faro-de-moncloa/ |title=El Monumento a la Hispanidad y el Faro de Moncloa |access-date=February 1, 2019 |last=Chamorro |first=Ángel |date=November 12, 2013 |work=Happening Madrid |publisher= |location= |language=spanish |quote= }} {{commonscat|Monumento a la Hispanidad, Madrid}}{{coord|40.43764|-3.72124|format=dms|type:landmark_region:ES|display=title}}2. ^{{cite web |url=http://www.adelaherran.com/monumentos/popups/hispanidad.html |title=Monumentos - Monumento a la Hispanidad |access-date=February 1, 2019 |last= |first= |date= |work= |publisher= |location= |language=spanish |quote= }} 3. ^{{cite web |url=http://aunamendi.eusko-ikaskuntza.eus/es/herran-matorras-agustin-de-la/ar-59110/be-1/ |title=Herrán Matorras, Agustín de la |access-date=February 1, 2019 |last= |first= |date= |work=Auñamendi Eusko Entziklopedia |publisher=Eusko Ikaskuntza |location= |language=spanish |quote= }} 1 : Monuments and memorials in Spain |
