词条 | Administrative divisions of Canada |
释义 |
Canada is divided into ten provinces and three territories. Each province has a different system of local government which may include upper-tier or rural jurisdictions such as counties, municipal districts, regional municipalities, regional districts or regional county municipalities. These divisions are then divided into lower-tier or urban jurisdictions such as cities, towns, villages, townships, and parishes. Cities in Quebec are further subdivided into arrondissements (similar to boroughs), while outside of Quebec cities are divided into wards. {{Canada provinces map|align=right |AB =Census divisions of Alberta|BC =Regional districts of British Columbia|SK = Census divisions of Saskatchewan|MB = Census divisions of Manitoba|ON = Census divisions of Ontario|QC = List of Quebec regions|NB = Counties of New Brunswick|PE = Counties of Prince Edward Island|NS = Counties of Nova Scotia|NL = Census divisions of Newfoundland and Labrador|NT=Regions of the Northwest Territories|NU=Regions of Nunavut|Map=Canada-census layout.png|caption=Census Divisions by province and territory}}Statistics Canada aggregates statistical census data into census divisions, which follow boundaries of one or more large local government units.
