It was built in 1932 for Mrs John Walker, whose sister was married to Dr. W. P. Stevenson, the chaplain of Maryville College.[2] It was designed in the Classical Revival architectural style.[2] Mrs Walker willed it to Maryville College when she died in 1950, and it was used as the college president's house.[2] Later, the college sold it to Dr. Lloyd Langston, but they bought it back when he died.[2] It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 25, 1989.[3] References1. ^{{NRISref|version=2010a}} {{National Register of Historic Places}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Morningside}}{{Tennessee-NRHP-stub}}2. ^1 2 3 {{cite web|title=National Register of Historic Places Registration Form: Morningside|url=https://npgallery.nps.gov/GetAsset/21c363ed-878b-4f64-a21b-a83032bba7a7|website=National Park Service|publisher=United States Department of the Interior|accessdate=September 27, 2017}} 3. ^{{cite web|title=Morningside|url=https://npgallery.nps.gov/AssetDetail/NRIS/89000904|website=National Park Service|publisher=United States Department of the Interior|accessdate=September 27, 2017}} 4 : Houses on the National Register of Historic Places in Tennessee|Neoclassical architecture in Tennessee|Houses completed in 1932|Buildings and structures in Blount County, Tennessee |
