HistoryConstruction overseen by Douglas Hyde began in {{circa|1910}}–12, and was completed in 1913. Hyde later became the first President of Ireland, serving from 1938 to 1945.[1] In later years, the hall was used for concerts by local celebrities such as Joe Dolan. In 1998 the Mullingar Arts Centre opened in the building.
